About Speaker
Mark Ebden was born in Toronto and studied Engineering Science at U of T. After working as an application engineer at Xilinx, Inc. in Silicon Valley; he earned a doctorate from the University of Oxford in the Signal Processing & Neural Networks research group. Then as a member of the Machine Learning Research Group, he developed analytics for Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, BP, and university spin-offs. In 2015, Mark returned to Toronto as a self-employed machine-learning consultant and adjunct lecturer at U of T and Seneca Polytechnic. From 2022 to 2024, he analyzed neural signals and images at The Hospital for Sick Children until joining the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) as a Senior Methodologist in the Information Management Group.
