The Windsor-Essex chapter is one of six chapters that make up the Western Region, and is the southern-most chapter in the organization. Uniquely situated along the busiest international crossing in North America, the Windsor-Essex chapter is comprised of members across a wide swath of disciplines, coming from a myriad of professional and educational backgrounds. Our members are spread out across 13 of the disciplines covered by OACETT and work in fields including buildings, biomedical, automotive, chemical, civil, electronics, mechanical, environmental and more.
The Windsor-Essex Chapter is home to St. Clair College; the main campus located within the Windsor city limits is home to over 6,000 students studying in over 90 programs in the areas of health and human sciences, engineering technologies, community studies, skilled trades, business and IT. The college is one of 27 within the province of Ontario, and a large percentage of members in our chapter attended St. Clair at one time or another.
Our chapter is one of the most active in OACETT; we host regular meetings of the chapter executive and openly welcome new members to attend and volunteer. Our chapter holds several in-person events each year and we regularly partner with the Windsor-Essex Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario for cross-networking and socializing opportunities.
